Website Heat Maps

Website heat maps track the most popular links on your website and allow us to determine how visitors react to menu links, image links and promotional banners. For example, we can determine how effective a red button is against say, a blue button. Or, whether or not an off-line promotion is leading the highest number of visitors to a particular page on your site.

The more clicks there are on a link, the more “heat” is generated and this is represented in a coloured “hot spot” overlaying your web page. [Click the image below for a detailed view]. We can also determine the most popular browser and screen resolution used by your visitors. This helps us to understand how pages are viewed. We then determine the best position for links or buttons to yield the highest volume of traffic.

Armed with this priceless information we are better equipped to help you gain an insight into how best to run effective marketing campaigns on your website. Variations of coloured buttons, photos and images used, as well as keyword links spread through your copy and the copy it self, can be tested over timelines. There is no better way to learn what’s hot and what’s not!

Amazing results

Just one week after launch we can see that visitors to the Building Firm website are particularly interested in the portfolio images. Note that the right side centre thumbnails, which randomly display, are gaining a high level of attention. We can also determine that other pages are being viewed with a high number of return clicks to the home page. This is a great result in that we now know visitors are spending time exploring the site, rather than just bailing out after viewing one or two pages.

Visit Building Firm and leave your mark!
